David Clifton grew up involved in numerous forms of artwork, which varied from
oil paintings to creating toys out of wood. He later turned his attention to
home restoration projects and furniture design.
David's love of Texas history combined with his old Texas home restoration experience
helped him develop an extensive knowledge of turn-of-the-century and older Texas home
and furniture styles.
He began recreating Texas furniture using authentic woods and construction techniques
and attracted a lot of attention with his unique workmanship.
David officially opened Texana Furniture Company for business in 1989 and his furniture has
been growing in popularity ever since.
Even though the company has experienced tremendous growth, each furniture piece is still
hand built from authentic, hand-selected Texas woods. Each Texana piece is an artistic
reproduction of Texas history, while still being a warm, functional, and comfortable.
